Infinite Tirthankaras established the tirth in order to enable all
souls in bondage to take delight in the law and enjoy eternal bliss. The land purified by
the five kalyanaks (beneficent events in the life of a tirthankara) namely, chyavan
(coming to the mother's womb), birth , diksha, attainment of omniscience and attainment of
salvation of a Tirthankara, is a tirth, A holy place. The holy place liberates the soul
from the cycle of transmigration and leads to salvation. Let us aspire to visit the sacred
places where the Tirthankara gave sermous, wandered about, had their monsoon sojourns and
witnessed the important events of their life. We should conceive the pious thoughts that
the land was purified by the touch of infinite siddhas. We should sanctify human life by
pilgramging the sacred places.
The sacred land and the pudgala particles of that land are so potential that they can
purify the sinner. The soul gets liberated from anger, pride, conceit, greed etc. and
expresses the innate qualities of purity,
Straightforwardness etc.,In the proximity God, the pilgrim experiences great peace. The
sun is far, far away but its light develops the lotus in the lake. Similarly, our attempt
to take the faithful formunate souls on a spiritual journey, will bless them with
wonderful peace.
